Using AOL with NuVisions

NuVisions Broadband is committed to providing the best possible Internet Services available. For this reason we offer compatibility with Third-Party Providers such as AOL. In addition, AOL allows it's customers to save on its costs by connecting through an Internet Service Provider such as NuVisions Broadband.

These instructions are specific to AOL Version 5. Other versions of AOL will be similar but may have some variations. If this section does not answer your questions, you may need to contact AOL technical support.

Connect To AOL Over the Internet

  1. First you must configure AOL to connect using an Internet connection rather than your modem. Open AOL and click on the Setup button.

2. Select EDIT NUMBERS.

3. Select your connection to AOL and hit EDIT to change the number from a phone number to a network connection.

4. Make sure that the connection is set to "TCP/IP" (as shown below).

5. Click OK until you get back to the AOL sign-on screen.

Dial-Up to NuVisions THEN Connect to AOL.

1. Connect to NuVisions Broadband. If you have a cable modem account with us then this step is already done. If you use our dialup service, connect to NuVisions as you normally do.

2. Once you are connected to NuVisions Broadband, open your AOL software (Do not disconnect from NuVisions)

3. Sign on to AOL. It will make the connection over your Internet connection.

Tell AOL.

1. AOL offers a discounted rate if you use their "Bring Your Own Access" plan. To switch your account to this plan, go to the AOL Keyword: Billing under your main screen name.
